An Assisted Living Facility is a residential care facility specializing in services provided to seniors requiring assistance with their daily living activities. These communities generally house anywhere from 50-250 residents in either private or shared accommodations, depending on monthly budget. These communities instill an open door policy and residents can come and go as they please as long as they notify the community staff. Typical services on a daily basis include

  • Dining style meals three times a day; breakfast, lunch and dinner with occasional snacks throughout the day.
  • Transportation services to doctors appointments, banking and shopping within a 10-15 mile radius.
  • Daily Activities such as; bingo, dancing, cooking classes, aerobics, movie nights and much more

  • Personal Housekeeping

In a Los Angeles Assisted Living, communities typically employ anywhere from 3-8 licensed caregivers who work in shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some senior care communities also employ LVN’s or RN’s but are generally higher in price.

Assisted Living communities are geared towards providing services for residents who are 65+ but can also cater to young adults who are between the ages of 50-65 but with a disability of some sort who can no longer live on their own.

Room Features:

Assisted Living in Los Angeles typically provides studio rooms, both shared and private. Some communities also can accommodate a 1 or 2 bedroom with a higher monthly fee. All shared rooms can accommodate a maximum of 2 residents. Sized range from 200 to 700 sqft. All rooms come with a private bathroom, closet and individual heating and air conditioning. Some rooms have adjacent bathrooms (jack and jill). Furniture can typically be furnished for a small fee unless the family wanted to bring their own. These elder care communities include basic cable and all major utilities. Additional television and telephone services need to be set up by the family members. Some rooms also come with a patio or balcony for additional comfort and relaxation.
